Halle Berry and Tom Hanks to shoot new film in Mallorca

Movie lovers who take up trips to villas in Mallorca later next month may be able to catch a glimpse of some of the hottest names in Hollywood.

The popular Spanish island getaway will be the setting for Cloud Atlas, a film which has both Tom Hanks and Halle Berry in its credits.

Based on a well-received book by David Mitchell, the movie is being directed by the Wachowskis brothers – famous for The Matrix – and Tom Tykwer.

It tells the tale of six individuals who all come from different eras in time but are linked by numerous factors.

People booked into Mallorca villas may also be fortunate to see Susan Sarandon, Hugo Weaving, Jim Broadbent and Ben Whishaw filming scenes on the island, as each also star in Cloud Atlas.

The Spanish destination was recently the setting for part of The Inbetweeners movie, which has recently laid claim to having the largest ever opening for a UK comedy.
