Get into classical music on a Mallorca holiday
Mallorca villa holidays could prove a popular option among classical music lovers this summer, while those who are not so familiar with the art form will have the opportunity to introduce themselves to the work of Frederic Chopin.
The Chopin Festival, a tradition that dates back to 1930, will return from August 1st to 29th.
This year's outing will be particularly special as it will celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Chopin, a Polish composer who was best known for his piano works.
People planning a Mallorca villa holiday can visit Valldemossa to attend the concerts, which will take place in the Carthusian monastery square and the cloister of the monastery on every Sunday between August 1st and 29th.
Chopin's compositions will be played by a number of renowned and up-and-coming performers, including Elisso Virsaladze, winner of the top prize at the Schumann Competition in Zwickau.
Travellers hoping to absorb some culture during a Mallorca holiday can also visit some of the island's cultural institutes, such as the Contemporary Art Museum in Palma and the Muro Ethnological Museum.
