Filming of Cloud Atlas movie taking place in Mallorca
Movie fans should be sure to try and take up last-minute flights to villas in Mallorca to catch some Hollywood icons at work.
See Mallorca reports that the Spanish island is currently host to Tom Hanks and Halle Berry, who are both staying in the destination to film scenes for upcoming blockbuster Cloud Atlas.
Mallorca has provided an ideal backdrop to parts of the movie, which is supposed to be set in Hawaii and New Zealand.
Among the sights chosen for scenes are the port of Soller – a picturesque bay which houses the replica galleon vessel the Earl of Pembroke – and the Tramuntara mountains on the west coast of the island.
Filming of Cloud Atlas is expected to bring in an estimated €2.8 million (£2.4 million) for the economy of Mallorca.
Cloud Atlas was originally a novel penned by British author David Mitchell and follows the stories of six individuals in various time zones, although each are related to one another.
