Festival 'sure to delight' Mallorca holiday makers
Villa holiday makers planning a visit to Mallorca next month may be interested in taking part in an annual fiesta on September 7th.
Set to take place in Santa Margalida, the free festival honours the town's patron saint, Catalina Tomas.
The Santa Catalina Tomas Fiesta begins with a procession of floats to celebrate her beatification by Pope Pious VI that leaves the local parish church at around nine o'clock in the evening.
It is then followed by a "noisy and colourful" festival that transforms the entire town with food, music, dancing and wine.
TripAdvisor recently named Mallorca as one of the top ten Mediterranean island holiday destinations of the year, according to a Reuters reports.
Sprawling beaches and the island's picturesque mountainous terrain make it a favourite destination for villa holiday makers.
