Explore "surprisingly quiet" Palma during a Mallorca villa holiday
People planning Mallorca villa holidays this summer have been encouraged to visit Palma for an experience that could surprise them.
Writing for the Independent, Imogen Haddon pointed out that the island's capital city is unusually quiet during the summer months as many locals and tourists head to beach resorts along the coast.
This provides visitors with "breathing space to enjoy the sunshine in this hip Spanish city", Ms Haddon said.
Holiday makers who decide to pay a visit to Palma during a Mallorca villa holiday can see some of the city's buildings and landmarks, such as Castell de Bellver, which is reportedly the only circular Gothic castle in Spain.
The attraction houses a museum and offers views that encompass several noteworthy sights and locations across the city, including the Seu cathedral and a number of historic squares.
Ms Haddon encouraged visitors to explore the whole of the city by taking a walk through its streets - which range from narrow alleyways to wide boulevards - and heading to local attractions such as the Es Baluard contemporary art museum.
