Part of the Balearic Islands archipelago, Mallorca is situated in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of mainland Spain and while some of its resorts are undoubtedly lively, other areas have long been a hit with those looking for peace and tranquillity on a Mallorca holiday.
According to the Independent Travel, more than eight million tourists are set to visit Mallorca this year, either to enjoy the hustle and bustle of some of the popular beach resorts or chill out in the relative isolation of some of the quieter coastal towns.
But while many visitors are attracted by Mallorca's spectacular coastline, the island has much more to offer than just luxurious beaches. From impressive mountainous areas to flat wetlands, the island is home to an abundance of different landscapes and scenery.
Indeed, a Mallorca holiday could allow visitors to enjoy a number of holiday types in one, spreading their time between the lively resort areas, the small fishing villages, the fertile marshlands and the sophisticated urban areas.
