Enjoy some La Liga action on a Mallorca holiday
Football fans enjoying Mallorca holidays in August might notice a buzz of excitement around the island before the start of the 2010-11 La Liga season.
Local side RCD Mallorca will begin their campaign with what could be one of their toughest home games of the season - a match against Real Madrid.
The islanders will take on the so-called Galacticos at the Ono Estadi on the last weekend in August.
While the visitors will certainly be favourites, Mallorca will be confident that they can test Madrid's stars, after finishing fifth in the table last season and losing only three games at home.
Sports fans planning to book a villa in Alcudia or Sa Pobla for a Mallorca holiday this year will have the opportunity to see some other matches on the island, including the local side's meeting with Osasuna on the weekend of September 19th.
Reigning champions Barcelona will start their campaign with an away fixture against Racing Santander on the first weekend of the season, before playing Hercules CF at home two weeks later.
