Consider travelling to Spain by ferry, expert advises

People who want to travel to their holiday villas in Spain in comfort and style could opt for a ferry.

Bill Gibbons, director of the Passenger Shipping Association, highlighted that ferry travel has become more and more comfortable in recent years, with operators offering luxury vessels and gourmet meals in some cases.

"Some ferry journeys offer an overnight crossing with en-suite cabins so you can arrive refreshed before a full day of driving ahead of you - the experience resembles more a mini-cruise than a simple crossing," the expert pointed out.

Ferry travel is no longer just for the Dover to Calais journey, he emphasised, with a variety of destinations, including Spain, now available and much of Europe being reachable.

Many families are likely to capitalise on ferry travel to Spain, with a recent Teletext Holidays report revealing that the warm country, famous for its sun, sea and sangria, is still a favourite with Brits.
