Casal Solleric: Mallorca

Casal Solleric is a series of art works that will be sure to get holidaymakers away from the villa pool.

Children, bulls and portraits of army officers with voluptuous women are littered through the paintings of Fernando Botero that are on display in Mallorca.

The exhibition focuses on Colombia's recent history and themes of tragedy, pain and violence experienced by the Colombian people in the 1990s are depicted.

Holidaymakers with an eye for art will not want to miss the event that takes place in Palma de Mallorca, as 25 oil paintings and 42 drawings will be housed on the island until late November.

The pieces are donated from the National Museum of Colombia and events such as the Massacre in the Cathedral are portrayed.

The south coast of the island is easily accessible by car from Palma, meaning a day trip from your villa is a realistic option for those looking to experience some of the culture Mallorca can offer.
