It has been reported that Mallorca officials are aiming to turn Capdepera into a cultural hotspot - which can easily be reached from a villa in the unpretentious little town of Felanitx.
The island's Daily Bulletin reveals that Capdepera is to be transformed in to a hub of activities including events, markets, fairs and places of tourist interest.
Anyone who likes a golfing holiday can also stop by at Capdepera Golf, which boasts one of the most beautiful courses on the island of Mallorca.
Found on Mallorca's east coast, the walled historical town of Capdepera also offers a daily ferry service to the neighbouring island of Menorca.
There is plenty of history in the town itself, as for centuries walls protected its inhabitants from pirate attacks.
Anyone who stays in Felanitx can really get away from it all and escape the clutches of the tourist areas for a sophisticated, relaxing villa holiday.
