Book a Mallorca villa to take in Palma's 'diverse architectural legacy'

Families booking Mallorca villa holidays will be landing in Palma before travelling to their chosen resort.

But it may be worth spending a day in the capital city, as there is much to see and do, particularly for those with an interest in architecture.

In an article for the South Wales Echo, Palma is described as having a "diverse legacy of historical architecture".

Its famous gothic cathedral La Seu dominates the waterfront with its impressive glass windows, one of which is the largest in the world.

Tourists will also be able to visit Palma's Moorish bathhouse, which is one of the last remaining pieces of Muslim architecture on the island.

But Palma boasts more than just architectural gems - it also has numerous restaurants serving Spanish tapas and Mallorcan dishes, as well as a wealth of shops and market stalls selling handicrafts such as jewellery and earthenware.

Those renting Mallorca villas in Porto Petro will be able to travel to Palma in around an hour by car.

This small fishing village is set in a horseshoe bay and is home to a fantastic selection of seafood restaurants close to the marina.

Cala d'Or is just a stone's throw away, so Mallorca holiday makers can also enjoy the lively atmosphere in this larger resort.
