Book a Mallorca villa and follow Rafael Nadal to the golf course
Tennis star Rafael Nadal is to front a new tourism campaign that could result in more people booking Mallorca villa holidays.
The world number two, who himself hails from the Balearic Islands, will highlight the many activities with which visitors can keep themselves occupied beyond the obvious attractions of sun, sea and sand.
Announcing the tie-up with Nadal, the Balearics Tourist Office's managing director Susanna Sciacovelli highlighted golf as one key area in which it intends to increase the number of visitors.
"It is very important to spread travel across the seasons and we want to be top of mind for golf and meetings so we can increase the number of tourists across the year," she said.
Campaigns and promotions will be run in the UK to highlight the large appeal of the Balearics, as well as pointing out how easy locations such as Mallorca and Menorca are to reach from Britain.
Those on a Mallorca villa holiday can also enjoy activities such as market shopping in Pollensa and the Sineu, or a cycling tour around the Sierra de Tramuntana mountains.
