Bonfire bonanza in the Balearics

A feast for all the family will be on offer for villa holiday makers that travel to the Mallorca Cricket Club to fawn over the fireworks and flames of the bonfire.

The event attracted 3,000 guests last year, making it the Balearic's largest single expatriate community festival and it is fast becoming an event to mark on the island's social calendar, according to the Mallorca Daily Bulletin.

Mallorca Cricket Club is situated in the south-west of the island and can be reached via rental car by holiday makers staying in the fertile, rural haven that is Sa Pobla.

Sa Pobla is known locally as the land of a thousand windmills and has a thriving farming community, which is ideal for anyone seeking a country hideaway to get away from everything.
