Angel Monday in Mallorca

Palma de Mallorca is the location for the event that dates back to the early 15th century but has not been celebrated ever since.

Known as the Custodio de Palma, it was celebrated during the 15th and 16th centuries where the poor were fed with bread that had been blessed and there was also a procession.

But the festival died out after that until it was revived in 1982 as Angel Sunday.

Holidaymakers will be excited to hear that it is one of the country;s largest fiestas making it the perfect chance to experience some of Spain's culture.

People begin in the early morning, walking from the town hall to the Castillo Bellver where they are greeted by musicians and people dressed as giants.

Visitors will be able to sample the food at this stage with dancing and children's activities providing the entertainment.

The Easter festivities start on Palm Sunday, followed by a festival on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
