October 1st is the fourth anniversary of the opening of Alcanada golf club, near Alcudia, Mallorca.
The golf course was designed by Robert Trent Jones junior, the son of the legendary course designer.
Adorned by pine, olive, and oak trees and with accompanying sea views, the course is a fantastic place to take a golfing holiday.
The designer, a former president of the American Society of Golf Course Architects has expanded and designed about 200 modern and innovative courses all over the world.
But the area of Alcudia doesn’t offer just golfers a great holiday experience.
From the port, holidaymakers can take ferry trips to Mallorca or Barcelona on a daily basis as well as boat trips around the island.
The old town lies within Moorish fort walls that were built centuries ago, there are also remains of a Roman town just outside the walls called Pollentia so there is no shortage of activities outside the villa.
If historical architecture interests you then a trip to a small Roman Amphitheatre would be perfect, and Alcudia is home to Spain's smallest one.
If you are looking for a warm relaxing break with historical architecture, or a golfing holiday by the sea, Alcudia could be a good place to try.
