A winter Mallorca holiday is "delightful"
A winter Mallorca holiday is a "delightful" experience, thanks partially to the lack of tourists that are usually found on the island in peak season, one travel writer has claimed.
In an article for the Independent, Mary Ann Sieghart explained that an out of season visit to Mallorca means "the crowds have vanished" and also gives holiday makers the chance to explore the island without having to contend with the summer heat.
She advised walking the footpath from Deia to Soller, which runs past olive groves, pine forests and citrus orchards and takes approximately two-and-a-half hours to complete.
The island "provides a perfect few days of natural beauty, architectural charm and dazzling views", she remarked, but added it is important to wrap up warm, as temperatures can get cold.
Another reason to visit Mallorca is the food as journalist and author Anna Nicholas recently explained.
She said the capital Palma offers everything from authentic fish restaurants to high-end establishments.
