A musical Mallorca holiday
The island's capital Palma recently hosted a concert from Woody Allen, as the comedian, actor and writer arrived with his jazz band to perform there.
It is now hoped that the region can continue to attract talented and famous musicians, putting Mallorca on the musical map in the process.
Already, arrangements are being made to bring performances from Serrat, Vonda Shepard and La Oreja de Van Gogh to Palma's auditorium, the Majorca Daily Bulletin reports.
Director of tourist promotion Joan Sastre said that the addition of big concerts, particularly out of high season, could help create "an all-year-round tourist industry".
Those who enjoy sampling the local nightlife when on a Mallorca holiday might like to book a villa in Alcudia, where a host of bars and discos can be found near the bustling marina.
