Winter sun 'makes Lanzarote holiday a top December option'
There are plenty of reasons to book a holiday in Lanzarote for the coming weeks, especially to those who deem sunshine to be a priority when enjoying a break.
The Guardian identifies the Spanish island as one of its top five bargain destinations for this month, citing its temperature as a key factor.
Indeed, the average high during December in Lanzarote is 22 degrees Celsius – more than warm enough for a spot of sunbathing or sightseeing without the threat of cold and rain.
And while the beaches of the landmass understandably attract much of the attention from visitors, the newspaper urges people to remember the inland areas of the island.
"Lanzarote's volcanic interior is other-worldly beauty, stark and unsettling," it states, adding there are isolated areas where tranquility can be enjoyed.
Paul Bondsfield, head of marketing at flight specialist Round the World Experts, recently said winter sun destinations are among the most in-trend at the moment.
