The Christmas period should be a time of year when families in the UK consider taking an overseas getaway, with Lanzarote villas providing the perfect getaway.
Psychologist Cliff Arnall delivered this message, after a study conducted by Thailand's new luxury resort Conrad Koh Samui, found that one in five people will still be paying for Christmas come March next year.
However, Mr Arnall believes that Brits should take a bit more of a selfish approach to the festive season and book a holiday abroad.
"Christmas is a vacation as well as a celebration. It is about doing something different that is authentic to you and includes a major amount of relaxation as well," he pointed out.
The expert also noted that travelling abroad during this occasion will allow people to undertake a pursuit which is refreshing and different.
When it comes to deciding where to travel to over Christmas, Mr Arnall advises choosing a destination which has warm winter temperatures, as well as one that will suit all passengers.
