Visit Lanzarote villas to honour a special anniversary
Families may want to book Lanzarote villas next year to celebrate a special anniversary for the Canary Island hot spot.
The destination is preparing to mark the 700th year since Genovese explorer Lancelotto Malocello first visited the Spanish location.
Lanzarote Guidebook reported that it has since been claimed Malocello's arrival on the island opened the door for explorers to venture to other locations in the archipelago.
As part of the celebrations, a host of individuals in Lanzarote have asked the European Union to declare the popular holiday destination as a European Cultural Space next year.
Juan Antonio de la Hoz, the councillor of historical legacy at the Government of Lanzarote, and Pedro Fraile, director of the Centres of Art, Culture and Tourism, are the names leading the proposals.
Meanwhile, those hoping to book last-minute flights to villas in Lanzarote may be able to arrive in the destination in time to catch an outdoor piano concert at Puerto Calero on September 10th.
Performances by skilled musicians Robin Colvill, Waka Hasegawa and Joe Tong are among those set to take to the stage.
