Rent a Lanzarote villa and dine out in style

Those booking Lanzarote holidays may wish to follow the advice of one travel writer if they want to enjoy some delicious meals during their break.

In an article for the Independent, travel journalist Simone Kane picked out a number of restaurants that offer some of the best food on the island.

She said the Amanacer bar, which is situated above a beach on the outskirts of Arrieta, serves up a daily menu of fish and tapas, with specials changing every day and meals cooked fresh to order.

Dishes such as fiery chorizo and fried squid, followed by a cool mojito, are sure to tempt tourists visiting this particular eatery.

In Marcha Blanca, the Restaurante Las Cadenas has been recently renovated and offers classic Canarian cuisine and specialises in roasted and barbecued meats.

Meanwhile, for those who want to go somewhere really special, the LagOmar restaurant in the town of Nazaret was once a villa owned by Omar Sharif and is built into the side of a volcanic cliff.

Those renting Lanzarote holidays in Oasis de Nazaret will be able to eat here, or try some of the village's other local eateries.

They could also rent a car to venture out and about, visiting some nearby towns, such as Teguise and the island's capital Arrecife.
