People spending more while in Lanzarote villas?
New figures seem to suggest that people have been splashing the cash while seeking out stays in villas in Lanzarote.
According to the holiday hotspot's Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade, more than €8 million (£6.84 million) has been spent across the Canary Islands so far throughout 2011.
This figure, which was revealed in the Ministry's Tourism Expenditure Survey, represents a 13.1 per cent increase in relation to last year's statistic.
Furthermore, the economic outlook of the Canary Islands has been boosted by the fact that its growth is around five points higher than the average increase recorded across the whole of Spain.
Recently, AENA, the Spanish Airport Authority, conducted a study which revealed that 160,441 foreign tourists had passed through Lanzarote's Arrecife Airport during October.
The statistic is up 18.81 per cent when compared to the number of passengers who visited the Canary Islands travel hub in the same month last year.
