New sports marina to be built in Lanzarote
Families hoping to snap up villas in Lanzarote will soon be able to take in a brand new sports marina while on tours around the Canary Island.
This is after the Port Authority of Las Palmas acknowledged that Puerto Calero has been granted permission to build the venue at Puerto Naos, in Arrecife.
According to the Lanzarote Guidebook, the creation of the sports marina is set to cost €36 million (£31 million) and take up 100,000 square metres of land and water.
Once complete, Brits will be able to explore a fresh harbour site, which can house up to 430 moorings at any one time, with a new dry dock also being created.
Commercial ventures and an array of swimming pools are also being planned for the location, to keep families entertained throughout their stay.
Work will begin on building the sports marina soon and is expected to take a maximum of 15 months to finish.
Arrecife is home to plenty of other venues for parents and children alike to enjoy, including a bustling shopping centre a seafront adorned with eye-catching garden displays.
