More tourists visiting Lanzarote villas?
More people look to have taken flights to Lanzarote villas, if new figures released by AENA are anything to go by.
The travel authority of Spain has revealed that 119,020 people passed through the Canary Island hot spot's Arrecife airport during May 2011.
This statistic is almost a 14 per cent increase on the 104,417 tourists who visited the same destination in the same month last year.
In fact, AENA's research seems to suggest a rise in popularity for the whole of the Canary Islands.
For example, the level of tourism in the archipelago was up by 15 per cent last month when compared to May 2010, while the year to date has seen a 25.45 per cent increase in activity when compared to the same period of 2010.
Lanzarote alone has seen a total of 709,784 foreign people enjoy the sights of the popular Canary Island.
With sun-kissed regions such as Playa Blanca, Papagayo and La Cueva de los Verdes to explore, Brits visiting Lanzarote villas this year are sure to find interesting sights.
