Millions of Brits set to head on festive holidays abroad
Many Brits are set to jet off on a getaway over the upcoming festive period, perhaps with a winter trip to villas in Lanzarote.
This is the key finding of a new study conducted by ABTA – the travel association, which highlighted that around 4.25 million people in the UK are set to head overseas between tomorrow (December 16th) and January 3rd.
Such a statistic is a significant leap on the four million Brits who sought a getaway during the same period last winter.
The research also found that Cuba, Mexico and the popular destinations within the Canary Islands are set to welcome high volumes of tourists.
Mark Tanzer, chief executive of ABTA, commented: "With all the doom and gloom of the economy it looks like people are keen to escape for a break, whether they are visiting friends and family or looking to enjoy winter sun or guaranteed snow."
Fans of nature are in for a special treat if they head to villas in Lanzarote over the winter, with the destination home to the Guinate Tropical Park – featuring 45,000 square metres of atmospheric garden space – and the historic Green Caves.
