Mile high Wi-Fi coming to flights to Lanzarote villas?
People who take trips to villas in Lanzarote from next summer could be able to experience online interactions during their flight to and from the destination.
A strategy outlined by airline company Monarch airlines could make this so, as they intend to be the first carrier in the UK to provide mile high Wi-Fi.
Planned to be introduced to its flights from summer 2012, the scheme is being set out so that it can better compete with the likes of Ryanair and easyJet.
Though concrete details are yet to be confirmed, the chief executive of Monarch, Conrad Clifford, is in talks with Wi-Fi companies to make the vision of internet services at 35,000 feet a reality.
Meanwhile, Brits will have more opportunities to take flights to Lanzarote villas from next year, thanks to Jet2 launching a new route to the Canary Island destination from Glasgow airport, with the first airline departing in March.
