London tourists to be encouraged to take holidays to Canary Islands
People who head to London to catch the city's New Year's Eve celebrations may be inclined to book up stays in Lanzarote villas upon their return home.
This is after Tourist Board of the Canary Islands revealed that it will be marketing the popular Spanish archipelago as an ideal getaway retreat during the British capital's New Year festivities.
A promotional spot will be broadcast by the institute in the centre of London on Saturday night (December 31st) on four giant screens.
It is estimated that one million people visiting London on New Year's Eve will be able to glance upon the 20-second advert when it is displayed.
The promotion comes soon after AENA, the Spanish Airport Authority, revealed that 133,448 foreign tourists visited Lanzarote during November 2011.
Such a figure is up 10.18 per cent when compared to the number of passengers who arrived at the Canary Island hotspot during November last year.
