Lanzarote villas: Tourist attractions on island in demand
Lanzarote villa holidays have once again been boosted by tourism figures, this time with a rise being seen in a number of its key attractions.
Earlier this week, AENA figures revealed that there had been a 14 per cent increase in the number of passengers passing through the popular holiday destination's Arrecife airport in May 2011 compared to the same month last year.
Now, it has been recorded that the six main centres of art, culture and tourism has seen a 7.88 hike in activity through May 2011, sitting at 162,061 visitors throughout the month.
The location that people staying in Lanzarote villas could most be seeking out is Timanfaya National Park, which saw more than 54,000 tourists pass through its gates.
Jameos del Agua, the Cuevas de los Verdes, the Mirador del Rio, the Jardin de Cactus and the Museum of Intentional and Contemporary Art at the Castillo de San Jose all had healthy figures too.
With all these sights to explore, as well as a host of magnificent cities and coastlines on offer, there are plenty of plus points to visiting Lanzarote this summer.
