Lanzarote villas: Museum of the Timple opens
People with an interest in musical instruments have been encouraged to check out a new museum which is available to those booking Lanzarote villas.
The Museum of the Timple has officially been opened by the councillor for culture, Oswaldo Betancort and the director general of Patrimonio, Aranzazu Gutierrez in the Canary Island's resort of Teguise.
By heading along to the attraction, music lovers will be treated to a guide through history of the famous Canarian miniature guitar, with a wealth of the devices on display throughout the venue.
Some of these items have been donated by well-known timple player Benito Cabrera from his very own private collection.
To further entice those staying in villas in Lanzarote to check out the Museum of the Timple, the venue will be putting on a range of activities and workshops to get more insight into the instrument.
The timple is a device similar in size to a ukulele, with a semi-round back giving it a unique distinction. It has become a traditional instrument throughout the Canary Islands and Murcia.
