Those renting Puerto Calero villas in Lanzarote next month will be able to watch an exciting fishing event taking place in the resort.
The 12th annual Deep Sea Fishing Competition will be held from September 3rd to 5th 2009 and will see anglers from across the Canary Islands taking part.
Holiday makers who are in the resort at the time could head down to the marina to see what the contestants have managed to hook.
The competition is bound to be fierce as the fishermen bring their catch ashore to be weighed and examined.
Deep sea fishing is a popular sport in Lanzarote and the rest of the Canary Islands, with anglers all hankering after the impressive blue marlin.
Those who fancy a spot of fishing themselves during their Lanzarote villa holiday could book an organised boat trip.
Puerto Calero is home to what is seen as one of the world's most exclusive yacht harbours, so it could act as a trendy villa holiday base, even for those who don't fancy fishing.
