Lanzarote villa guests urged to explore island
Holiday makers planning Lanzarote villa breaks have been urged to take the opportunity to explore the island and experience everything that it has to offer.
Carmen Hernandez Gomez, a market analyst at the Spanish Tourism Office, identified Lanzarote as a destination that is sometimes overlooked and has not been fully explored by foreign visitors.
She likened the island to Ibiza on the basis that people often visit the locations expecting to find crowded tourist hotspots and all-night parties, but are surprised by how scenic and tranquil they are.
Describing the appeal of Lanzarote, Ms Gomez said: "There are the resorts that people don't leave when they go there but the rest of the island is amazing. I would recommend anyone to just hire a car and drive around."
People looking forward to Lanzarote villa holidays this year can plan visits to locations such as Timanfaya National Park and the Mirador del Rio lookout point.
The island is also home to numerous beaches and seafront towns where visitors can relax, soak up some sun and swim in the sea.
