Booking a villa in Lanzarote could be the perfect choice for those who want to keep up with the latest holiday trend among Britons.
Paul Bondsfield, head of marketing at flight specialist Round the World Experts, says the fashionable thing to be done at the moment is to take a break in a sunny location.
He admits this is at least partially the result of the snow and chilly temperatures that are currently covering the UK.
While the expert notes this time of year is "always extremely popular for sunshine holidays", the climate is more than encouraging the trend to boom.
A villa in Lanzarote could be the ideal spot to catch the rays in December, as the Canary Islands are renowned as a great winter sun destination.
Recent research by Experian Hitwise showed hot holiday spots are proving popular in terms of online searches, with both Tenerife and Lanzarote in the top ten for the quarter ending in October.
