Lanzarote to receive new key tourism attraction?
Families snapping up villas in Lanzarote may soon be able to take in a new tourist attraction during their getaway.
That is because the Castillo Las Coloradas fortress in Playa Blanca is looking set to be transformed into a more welcoming venue.
Gladys Acuna, the mayoress of Yaiza, has put forward proposals which would see the current structure turned into one of Lanzarote's key tourist interests.
Some of the improvements which could be made to the small fortress include building a new walkway to the venue, as well as adding night-time illumination to the site.
A host of enhancements could also be coming to the interior of the attraction, with one of the highlight features being to establish information about the surrounding landscape on the roof of the building.
People heading on last-minute flights to Lanzarote villas may also want to note that the Atlanta Gospel Choir will be performing in Teguise on December 7th, followed by a show in Arrecife two nights later.
