Lanzarote's tourist expenditure 'highest in four years'
People seem to have been spending more money while visiting Lanzarote villas this year, when compared to previous years.
This is after new figures released by the Canarian Government disclosed that €1,426 million (£1,229 million) has been generated through tourist expenditure in the popular Canary Island in the first nine months of 2011.
Such a statistic makes it the highest amount the island's government has seen in this period of time in four years.
Tourism from the UK has accounted for an estimated €243 million of the total over this period, which is up 16 per cent when compared to the first nine months of 2010.
News of the tourism figures come soon after the Lanzarote Guidebook reported how 2,047,053 admissions have been made to Lanzarote's Centres of Art, Culture and Tourism so far this year.
This figure is an increase of 8.93 per cent when put in relation to attendance figures in the same period in 2010.
