Lanzarote's tourist attractions receive boost
There has been an increase seen in the number of people visiting the main tourist attractions in Lanzarote, those taking holidays to the Canary Islands may want to note.
According to figures reported by the Lanzarote Guidebook, the six main Centres of Art, Culture and Tourism on the island have seen tourism numbers hit 213,856 in October, up 6.4 per cent from past results.
The statistics have also meant that 2,260,909 people have passed through Lanzarote's main attractions since the start of the year – a climb of 8.68 per cent when compared to the figures recorded during the same period in 2010.
Families who have taken trips to Lanzarote villas seemed to favour a trip to Timanfaya National Park during the getaway, with 73,714 individuals passing through its gates throughout October.
Other popular venues included Jameos del Agua (54,583 visitors), Mirador del Rio (29,943) and Cuevas de los Verdes (28,027).
Recently, Canaries News reported how Tenerife has witnessed a 15 per cent rise in winter holiday bookings by British holiday makers.
