Lanzarote's tourist attractions in demand through 2011
While staying in villas in Lanzarote, many holiday makers seem to have sought out the destination's tourism venues.
This is after new research reported by Lanzarote Guidebook revealed a boost in visitor numbers to the Centres of Art, Culture and Tourism on the popular Canary Island.
During the year to date, the main attractions have welcomed 2,457,970 people through their doors - a nine per cent increase in activity when compared to 2010's figures.
The most popular venue has remained the Fire Mountains at the Timanfaya National Park, which has welcomed over 800,000 tourists so far in 2011.
Jameos del Agua, Cueva de los Verdes and Mirador del Rio have also witnessed boosts to their visitor figures this year.
AENA, the Spanish Airport Authority, has also recently revealed that the number of people who visited Lanzarote last month is up by 10.18 per cent when compared to the Canary Island's tourism figures in November 2010.
