Lanzarote prepares to host the 28th Festival de Musica Canarias

Classical music fans have plenty of entertaining shows to head along to if they take last-minute flights to Lanzarote villas this month.

The popular Canary Island and its neighbouring destinations across the archipelago will be host to the 28th annual Festival de Musica Canarias across January.

Lanzarote is home to two of the concerts being held to honour this event, with the first occurring on January 10th in Arrecife's Island Theatre.

People who snap up tickets for this show, perhaps after booking into villas in Lanzarote, will be able to witness the works of Handell, Purcell and Bach live.

Then on January 24th, Lanzarote's capital Teguise will take the spotlight as it hosts an atmospheric concert featuring Il Giardino Armonico at the Convento de Santa Domingo.

Details of the latest Festival de Musica Canarias event comes soon after the Lanzarote Guidebook reported that the main Centres of Art, Culture and Tourism on the Canary Island welcomed more than 2.4 million people through their doors in 2011.
