Lanzarote holidays 'to be popular this year'
An increasing number of holiday makers will jet off on a Lanzarote holiday this year, one Spanish tourism expert has predicted.
Carmen Hernandez Gomez, market analyst at the Spanish Tourism Office, explained that the Balerics and Canary Islands are growing in popularity with holiday makers and expected to be busy destinations this year.
"People often find that they are different to what they thought once they decide to explore outside the big resorts," Ms Gomez observed.
Those who want to get off the beaten track could book a Lanzarote villa and use it as a base from which to discover the island.
In a recent letter to the Daily Telegraph, Jane Dee advised tourists wanting to get away from the more established - and busier - beaches in the Canaries to head to La Hoya and the coastline located to the west of it, where it is possible to spot pink crabs on the black rocks.
