Lanzarote carnival dates and themes announced

People will have the chance to get into carnival mood if they take up stays in villas in Lanzarote in the first couple of months of next year.

Themes and dates for the 2012 carnivals across the popular Canary Island destination have been revealed.

For the Arrecife Carnival, guests have been encouraged to base their appearance on the styles associated with the World of the Viking.

A survey carried out by the Department of Festivities at the Ayuntamiento of Arrecife decided on the theme, with the attraction taking place between February 10th and 22nd.

Meanwhile, those who are opting to visit the Puerto del Carmen Carnival will want to make note that it will be going down the route of the Wild West.

Holiday makers can get involved in this fun-filled event from February 23rd until its conclusion on the 26th.

While taking a trip to Puerto del Carmen after seeking out Lanzarote villas, tourists may also want to check out the resort's six kilometre stretch of sun-kissed beaches to gain a golden tan.
