Increase in Brits visiting Lanzarote villas?
More Brits are looking to take up trips to villas in Lanzarote, if new research by the Canarian Institute of Statistics is anything to go by.
Figures released by ISTAC have found that the number of tourists from the UK heading to the Canary Island hot spot totalled 75,966 in June.
This is a significant 18.7 per cent jump from the 64,026 Brits who arrived on the island in June 2010.
In fact, the statistic is the largest seen across Lanzarote in relation to the British tourist market for the past few years, with results from 2005 and 2006 the only years to rival it in recent times.
All told, it was acknowledged by ISTAC that foreign tourism to this Canary Island has increased by 20.7 per cent in June 2011 when compared to the same time last year.
More Brits could be attracted to snap up Lanzarote villas in the future, due to a fresh advertising promotion being launched across the UK by the Society for the External Promotion of Lanzarote, the Tourist Board and Monarch Travel Group.
