A travel writer has identified Lanzarote as a holiday destination that is worth visiting and good value at this time of year.
Sarah Turner, penning a piece for the Daily Mirror, says the Spanish island located off the west coast of Africa is a top choice and one of the best available this week.
She recommends flying with budget airline easyJet, which operates services direct from the UK to the Canary Islands.
Ms Turner also raises the possibility of staying on a self-catering basis – something that could perhaps appeal to those planning to book a villa in Lanzarote.
The Canaries are noted for their provision of warmth and bright sun even through the winter months, as well as a beautiful landscape that may be especially pleasant to explore at the coldest time of the the year.
Pia Louw, travel industry director at the Tenerife Tourism Corporation, recently claimed one of the greatest attractions of neighbouring island Tenerife is the traditional festivals and parties that it hosts, offering visitors an authentic taste of the resort.
