Holiday in Lanzarote 'must include national park visit'
People who head to Lanzarote for a holiday this autumn must include a visit to the Timanfaya National Park as part of their trip.
That is the view of Stella Kaye, writing for Helium, who says the landscape found in the area is "to be seen nowhere else on earth".
Timanfaya is most famous for the event that shaped it, when several hundred years ago 32 volcanoes in Lanzarote simultaneously exploded.
This gave beaches and land on the island a slightly blackened look that can still be noticed today.
But it is not only the landscape that should be witnessed by those on holiday in Lanzarote, with Ms Kaye also noting there are fine restaurants, including one that cooks with the volcanoe's heat, as well as various demonstrations to enjoy.
Linda Garrison, writing for about.com, recently noted Lanzarote is an ideal destination for geologists because of its fascinating landscape.
