Holiday in Lanzarote is "great for walking, cycling and jogging"
A holiday in Lanzarote may typically be seen by many people as a chance to relax, unwind and spend some stress-free time by the pool or on the beach.
However, according to Brian Johnson, of Oxon, writing a letter to the Daily Telegraph, it can be used for more energetic purposes.
He suggests the Spanish island, located off the west coast of Africa, is "great for walking, cycling and jogging".
The author advises people to head to Rubicon Marina and take in the stunning views across the Bocaina Straits.
Mr Johnson adds: "The resort is ideal for families and couples. The best sunbathing beaches are found four miles away at Playa de Papagayo, within Los Ajaches nature reserve."
And enjoying lunch at El Golfo – a seafood restaurant on the beach – is another tip for those intending to holiday in Lanzarote.
The Toronto Sun recently recommended visiting the island to see the works of artist Cesar Manrique, with pieces spread across the resort.
