Holiday in Lanzarote 'is an explorer's dream'
Those who love to get outdoors and explore the natural beauty of a location could be first in line when it comes to booking holidays in Lanzarote in 2011.
An article on the Heather on her Travels blog highlights the island's Green Caves – known locally as Cueva de los Verdes – as one of the highlights.
It notes the "turbulent geological past" of the destination has helped to form a series of lava tunnels and caves that provide the perfect place for those with an inquisitive mind to discover.
Starting at the sea, the caves stretch about two kilometres inland and can be passed on an organised tour.
"The tour will take you through some dark and narrow passageways that lead you into the real secret of the Green Caves – an impressive auditorium," the blog post explains.
An article by Josh on Myonline-Reviews.com recently expressed the belief that Lanzarote's climate is one of its major advantages.
