Guidebook published for people on Lanzarote villa holidays

A new publication has been released that could help people on Lanzarote villa holidays discover some of the island's hidden gems.

Written by long-term residents of the Spanish territory, the Lanzarote Guidebook provides an in-depth look at what there is to do on the island and is completely free for tourists to peruse.

According to Tenerife News, it is updated every quarter to ensure that the information about various destinations across Lanzarote is as up-to-date as possible.

Included within is coverage on all of Lanzarote's attractions, including the Timanfaya Volcano Park and the Jameos del Agua.

It is distributed freely to visitors on the island from a range of locations, including the tourist information offices, the newspaper reports.

Residents got together to produce the guide in order to have a say in how the island's tourism industry is developed.

One of the reasons for Lanzarote's allure is that its holiday market has grown in a controlled way that prevents it from becoming 'over exposed'.

Island-born artist and architect Cesar Manrique was involved in the creation of the Lanzarote Guidebook, according to Tenerife News.

The easternmost of the seven Canary Islands, Lanzarote neighbors Fuerteventura and its capital is Arrecife, which has a population of nearly 51,000 inhabitants.
