Guests at Lanzarote villas offered tips on 'island's best beach'

Britons staying at villas in Lanzarote this winter may be interested in words of wisdom from one expert, who believes she has identified the Spanish island's top beach.

Nicky Holder, writing for the Daily Telegraph, names Playas de Papagayo as the destination's greatest seaside spot.

Citing its soft, white sand and turquoise waters, the expert suggests it is widely regarded by local people as the finest beach in Lanzarote.

"Playas de Papagayo has lots going on and a handy cafe-bar where you can sample the local cuisine while watching the sun set majestically behind the mountains in Los Ajaches," the author states.

People staying in villas in Lanzarote should note there is a small charge to enter the national park if they are travelling by car.

Head of marketing at flight specialist Round the World Experts Paul Bondsfield recently recommended winter sun destinations – such as Lanzarote – as the trendy places to book holidays at the moment.
