Enjoy fine wine on holiday in Lanzarote
The unique landscape and make-up of the island of Lanzarote means those who holiday there have the opportunity to sample some of the finest wine in the world.
An article by TNT magazine identifies produce from the landmass off west Africa's coast as particularly high in terms of quality.
It is also very different from wine found in the majority of other destinations, as Lanzarote's volcanic land means its ingredients are grown in a one-off gravel.
Meanwhile, the publication goes on to explain it is not only wine those on holiday in Lanzarote can enjoy, as the Canary Islands are also renowned for rum.
Tourists are advised to head to Gran Canaria for a special taste of the drink, while another local beverage to look out for is parra, which translates as moonshine, or parra with honey.
Bob Atkinson, travel director at Travelsupermarket.com, recently recommended the Canary Islands as one of the top places to top up a tan this winter.
