Check out Famara beach on a Lanzarote holiday
People planning to soak up some sun during a Lanzarote villa holiday this year have been encouraged to visit Famara beach.
The Telegraph identified the coastal hotspot as one of the best beaches in the Canary Islands.
One of the most interesting aspects of the location is its natural backdrop, according to the newspaper, with "spectacular pinkish cliffs" providing a unique sight for visitors to admire.
Acclaimed filmmaker Pedro Almodovar used Famara as one of the locations for his recent film Broken Embraces, while the influential modern artist Cesar Manrique spent his childhood holidays there.
People who visit the beach during a Lanzarote villa holiday will have the chance to try out some of the adventurous activities on offer, such as surfing, windsurfing and kiteboarding.
Professionals in these sports often come to Famara to train, according to the Telegraph.
The area also boasts several bars and restaurants in the nearby village of La Caleta de Famara, meaning visitors can sit down for a drink or a bite to eat after a day spent relaxing by the sea.
