Camel trek 'can be a highlight of holiday in Lanzarote'
A holiday in Lanzarote is not all about soaking up the sun and relaxing on the island's long and beautiful beaches.
Stella Kaye, writing a piece for Helium, says there are plenty of activities to keep holiday makers entertained throughout their stay.
For example, Ms Kaye recommends taking a camel trek along the edges of Lanzarote's extinct volcanoes.
This is sure to be "another memorable highlight" of a break on the Spanish island, the author promises.
Such a journey typically takes about 25 minutes and, as well as offering the rare opportunity to jump on board a camel, allows people to enjoy the spectacular views found within the resort's mountainous inland region.
It may even be possible to extend the camel ride and take in other parts of Lanzarote.
Last week, Ms Kaye said those who visit the destination are likely to feel "in awe of nature" if they travel to the famous Timanfaya National Park.
