Grab yourself a late deal >Brits seeking 'tried-and-tested getaways'
The ongoing economic crisis has led to many Brits seeking getaways to villas in Lanzarote in order to enjoy tried-and-tested holidays.
Bob Atkinson, travel expert at Travelsupermarket.com, acknowledged that while cash flow is still tight, families from the UK are opting for destinations which offer value for money.
As a result, he acknowledged: "For Brits this year it's really about overall value and using both online and offline to research where to get the best deal - comparing packages and DIY breaks, self catering and all inclusive."
Mr Atkinson went on to note that holiday makers are also hoping to enjoy a getaway which offers them "safety and familiarity", with destinations in Spain and Portugal particularly popular.
His comments follow on from Andrew Dunn, founder of Scott Dunn, explaining to Brits via a recent BBC On The Money podcast that annual holidays "are absolutely a necessity".
The expert pointed out that this is because people need to have a getaway to look forward to, especially when they are trying to get through the gloomy winter months.
